Many of you have already taken the opportunity to work with Kids Connect, the brainchild of a very special person in our community, Elizabeth Jordan. Not only does she have a little guy who still fits on the hip, but she is expecting another child as well. This knowledge should convince even the busiest of parents that they might just be able to connect to Kids Connect, even if for a one-time venture!
I endorse her mission wholeheartedly, and ask that you consider becoming involved with at least one of her community outreach programs. There are many from which to choose, and you will additionally be enjoying some of that illusive "quality time" with your family members-in-tow!
Additionally, if you know of an "empty-nester", grandparent or retiree seeking ways to become involved with meaningful work, please pass this information along. As this is a fairly new organization, there are still positions open for everything from administrators to clerical and "gophers".
We can talk about sharing to our children, but until they develop a first-hand perspective founded from personal experience(s), we will not be efficiently communicating...and, yes...even your toddler can benefit from serving others.
